LIFE SECURDOMINO Project – Seveso sites: assessment of integrated safety-security hazards and risks and related domino effects

The interconnected nature of critical installations makes them vulnerable targets for external acts of interference, which might cause cascading events affecting multiple systems. Thus, an interdisciplinary approach is required to cope with the complex nature of this threat. This seminar is exploring different perspectives on the assessment and management of intentional threats to critical installations (e.g., industrial facilities). International contributions from both practitioners and academia will illustrate the interdisciplinary features of the problem, providing a comprehensive discussion on the principles, approaches, and challenges for the integrated safety-security analysis of cascading scenarios triggered by external acts of interference to industrial facilities.
